Sunrise Real Estate (“Sunrise”), the pan-European investor, developer, and asset manager of high-quality logistics assets, has celebrated the completion of its Amsterdam West Development Centre (“AWDC”) in the Netherlands.

Unit 1 at AWDC has already been let by furniture and interior design retailer, Loods 5, which signed a pre-let agreement. Unit 2 has also been pre-let to AYBL, a British activewear brand. There are two remaining units available, currently being marketed by Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers.

AWDC is a 19,660 sqm prime industrial and distribution centre, strategically located in an established logistics park, offering quick access to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam Port, Haarlem and the wider motorway network.

Comprised of four units ranging in size from 3,785 sqm to 7,085 sqm, AWDC’s design incorporates several sustainability features, including solar panels, green roofs, grey water reuse, EV charging points and LED lighting, with substantial biodiversity measures in place across the building’s green spaces. The building has achieved BREEAM Very Good.

Furthermore, Sunrise has installed an innovative renewable energy and battery solution at AWDC in response to ongoing investment into the local power grid infrastructure. The building will be powered by 2MWp roof mounted solar PV, 660 kW battery and a small grid connection which will provide sufficient power for the tenants. This results in approx. 50% renewable energy consumption per year for the asset.

The General Contractor for the project was Heembouw, with C2N acting as project manager.
