Sunrise Real Estate, in partnership with solar developer Sunrock, have now completed installation of an 8MW PV system on the roof of our “Venlo South” property in Heerlen.

The system, which utilises 70,000 square meters of roof surface, will provide 3MW of power for on-site consumption to our customer, JD Sports, reducing their reliance on high grid pricing and improving the property’s sustainability.

The remaining power will be sold to local businesses, including a Dutch logistics operator who have signed an agreement to offtake 0.9MW. Other organisations are in advanced discussions for the remaining power, including a Rotterdam hospital who are expected to consume 1.7MW. The surplus will return to the Dutch grid.
